Why pay for lessons when I can learn from the internet for free?
The internet can indeed provide a wealth of information about learning to play an instrument. However, the internet cannot provide you with critical feedback regarding technique. Also, learning with the guidance of a teacher facilitates a positive student/teacher relationship based on something that both the student and teacher mutually loves, which is music.
What should I expect in my first lesson?
Instruction begins with a brief conversation about the student's interests and goals. Expect to dive into learning by playing music. In your first lesson, you will learn to play several melodies, chords, and possibly your favorite song (upon request). Hopefully, this first lesson will inspire and create motivation for learning to play and practice at home.
How long will it take to be able to play music?
You will be able to play several "songs" after your very first lesson. However, learning is an investment. The more you play, the faster you will reach your goals.
